Vaccine certificate requirements

The UK have now proudly vaccinated almost 27.7 million people, with 2.2 million already having had their second dose.

Last week, the European Commission announced that it would create a Digital Green Certificate to facilitate safe free movement inside the EU during the COVID-19 pandemic. This is a certificate which will register COVID-19 vaccinations, recent COVID-19 negative test results or recovery from COVID-19. The intention is to have a unified format accepted at the EU level.

The free digital or paper certificate is expected to be in circulation from the summer this year, although it still requires final approval by the European Parliament and Council.

Meanwhile, Australia is rolling out their free COVID-19 vaccination campaign. Medicare records must first be verified and updated before receiving a vaccination. With many temporary visa holders in Australia who are not eligible for Medicare, they must now obtain an “Individual Healthcare identifier” (“IHI”) in order to be able to receive a vaccination.
