Who Can Apply for the Youth Mobility Scheme Visa?

To qualify for the Youth Mobility Scheme visa, applicants must meet certain criteria. You must be aged between 18 and 30 (or 18 and 35, depending on your country of origin), have a minimum of £2,530 in savings, and be a national of an eligible country. Applicants from Australia, Canada, New Zealand, and South Korea may apply if aged 18 to 35, while individuals from other countries such as Japan, Iceland, and Uruguay may apply if aged 18 to 30.

The application process for the Youth Mobility Scheme visa is straightforward, though it’s essential to allow sufficient time for preparation. Your application can be submitted up to six months before your intended travel date. Once your application is submitted online, you will be required to provide proof of identity and supporting documentation. Depending on your circumstances, you may need to attend an appointment, which we will guide you through to ensure all requirements are met.

After your application is submitted, including your identity verification and supporting documents, you can typically expect a decision within three weeks. In some cases, delays may occur, but we will ensure you are informed of any changes.

The Youth Mobility Scheme visa allows you to stay in the UK for up to 24 months. If you are from Australia, Canada, or New Zealand, you may be eligible to extend your stay for an additional year after the initial two-year period. During your stay, you will have the opportunity to work in most jobs or even establish your own business, provided certain conditions are met. Additionally, you may study, subject to specific course requirements.

There are certain restrictions associated with this visa. For example, you cannot remain in the UK beyond the initial two or three years unless you are from Australia, Canada, or New Zealand. You will also not be eligible for public funds, and family members cannot be included in your application, they must submit their own applications separately.
